Apparatus and associated methods relate to a valve having an actuator configured to translate a mass in a plane and a valve element located out of the first plane and configured to translate along a first linear axis. In an illustrative example, at least one of the mass and the valve element may include a magnetic source providing a persistent magnetic field and the other may include a non-magnetized, magnetically permeable mass. Reluctance-induced forces may, for example, translate the valve element towards the mass along the first linear axis when the mass is brought into register with a second linear axis. The first linear axis and the second linear axis may, for example, be colinear. Various embodiments may advantageously provide a valve requiring low energy input for operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":8648,"template":"","types-of-patents-preparation":[25,27,47],"class_list":["post-8646","case-studies","type-case-studies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","types-of-patents-preparation-electrical-patents","types-of-patents-preparation-mechanical-patents","types-of-patents-preparation-medical-device-patents"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/case-studies\/8646","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/case-studies"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/case-studies"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/case-studies\/8646\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":8649,"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/case-studies\/8646\/revisions\/8649"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/8648"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8646"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"types-of-patents-preparation","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thompsonpatentlaw.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types-of-patents-preparation?post=8646"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
